The magazine began conferring its annual awards in 1967 and started televising them in 1978 and launching a partnership with TNN in 1989 for widespread distribution.
Music City News was published for 37 years before it ceased operation. At one time the magazine had nearly 50,000 subscribers and was one of country music’s most respected voices.
