(Above) I played fiddle on an album called “The Night Atlanta Burned” with Chet. We performed the title song on the Jerry Reed pilot TV show for The Nashville Network around 1976. The other musicians on the show in this picture are Kenny Penny and Mark Casstevens. – Lisa Silver
This is from a recording session in 1989, we were singing on a song called “Yellow Roses” for Dolly Parton’s album “White Limozeen.” I think we were at Sound Shop recording studio, although it might have been Sound Stage recording studio, can’t remember which one! L-R is the back of Ricky Skaggs’ head, Curtis Young, Liana Manis, me, Dolly and Richard Dennison. We were working out the vocal arrangement.
L-R: Mark Ivey, Garth Brooks, Kira Small, Bergen White during a lunch break at a Garth Brooks sesssion.
Lisa Silver, Linda Davis and Vince Gill
Brenda Lee, Jana King, Lisa Silver and Owen Bradley
Writing for Allmusic, critic Richard S. Ginell wrote of the album “With all the hype about the Yo-Yo Ma/Mark O’Connor/Edgar Meyer Appalachia Waltz projects of the 1990s, it’s enlightening to discover the seeds of that classical/country/bluegrass fusion right here, some 20 years ahead of the game.”[1]
The liner notes are by John D. Loudermilk, discussing the burning of Atlanta and the Atlanta Conservatory of Music during the American Civil War.
The entire album streams on Youtube.

The Cherry Sisters
The Cherry Sisters, Lisa Silver, Diane (Tidwell) Vanette and Sheri (Kramer) Huffman, are a Nashville based trio who were some of the most sought after background singers from the mid-70s through the mid-90s and beyond. Backing up Charlie Rich Headed to Vegas in 1975!...
