Add Lisa to Your Service!

Looking to add an extra dimension to your Shabbat service or  special event? Lisa is just a call/email/text away to participate in your services virtually as a guest soloist on Zoom, or with pre-recorded videos. Other ideas? Let’s talk.

For times when your congregation might need someone to step in as a cantorial soloist to keep the music alive when your cantor is not availale, let Lisa and her decades of experience as a cantorial soloist fill the gap. Lisa can provide her original musical versions of liturgy or include your congregations’s familiar settings.

The Covid-19 pandemic has taught us that the experience and mastery of remote-based live music has the quality of sound that supports and enhances either virtual or in-person Shabbat services. Lisa is adept at a number of solutions.

“For decades now, our music at Micah has been sung, played, written and led by our Grammy-nominated Musical Director and Cantorial Soloist, Ms. Lisa Silver. With songs that speak to our very souls, she has performed and harmonized her way into our hearts; she has enabled us each individually and as a community to communicate with the divinity within us, in between us , and all around us.”   Rabbis Laurie and Flip Rice, Congregation Micah, Nashville, TN

“Lisa uses music as a vehicle for sanctity and transformation. While her voice is aesthetically stunning, her singing is not a mere song ~ it’s a moment, an experience. She turns melody into prayer, and poetry into poignancy.” – Rabbi Alexis Berk, Senior Rabbi, Temple Solel, Northern San Diego County.
.. Lisa was a pro. Maybe it was all those years on stage, or CMA Awards or Nashville Now TV show, but Lisa is the consummate artist. We only had to look at each other from across this bima to change a song, speed up or slow down, or know if certain people walked in to add more English or include a favorite song… For me she is always the quintessential artist and friend…”  – Rabbi Ken Kanter, Founding Rabbi Congregation Micah & Rabbinic Director, Roots of Reform Judaism.
Today’s technology allows for magnificent sound to be included in your service or event with video production or simple video of Lisa singing. This allows her to record and send music to you to drop into your service where you would like it to go. Lisa can appear on your online/zoom or streamed services and events with screens in your sanctuary.

Here’s an example of Lisa performing the beautiful song, “Hineini” written by Lisa and Karen Taylor-Good.

No video in the sanctuary? No problem! Lisa can simply send the MP3’s you need and they can be played during your live service from your sound system. This allows you to share music despite having your cantor out for a time. It is a great solution for congregations that are unable to afford a full time cantor.

“Lisa is a song writer par excellence, and her original music and songs continue to advance Jewish liturgy for future generations. Commission an original song for your congregation or community!  Working with Lisa is a dream – truly.  You should be so lucky! ” Julie Greenberg, MTS, RJE, Education Director, Congregation Micah

Celebrating Jewish Children

Writing and singing approachable singalong songs for children is a specialty of “Ms. Lisa”. Combining favorites with new music that children learn quickly and engaging with children takes a bit of sparkle and magic that radiates from Lisa’s songs. Lisa has developed her own children’s music that makes a point of not “talking down” to children but is meaningful and approachable at their developmental age and stage.

Lisa’s music for children is written to engage children with original singalong songs. The music reflects her life experiences as an adoptive mom, a parent and as the music director at Congregation Micah where she helped create a children’s choir and created entire children’s musical services. Lisa’s children’s music portfolio combining old familiar and new original songs is a wonderful choice for engaging your congregation’s kids or your preschool and grade school groups with music they will love.
